LECTURE: THE INSTITUTE FOR WISHFUL THINKING—ART, ACTIVISM, OR JUST WISHFUL THINKING?

Artist Maureen Connor, cofounder of the Institute for Wishful Thinking (IWF), will describe the origins of the institute to its most recent project, Artists in Residence to the U.S. Government (self-declared). Founded in 2008, the IWT solicits proposals from artists that address social issues either directly or symbolically.

Maureen Connor is one of nine New York artists who comprise IWT. Her work combines installation, video, interior design, ethnography, human resources, feminism, and social justice.
