Jewish Settlers in Southampton

Documentation of Jews coming to Southampton before the 1880s is rare. After that time they joined the wave of European immigrants who came to Eastern Long Island. They worked as peddlers and factory workers with a desire to establish their own family farms or small businesses. Tom Edmonds, Executive Director of the Southampton Historical Museum, will lead a discussion on what is known about the Jewish settlement of Southampton with the hope that members of the audience will relate their own family history and broaden our knowledge on this fascinating topic.
