65th Artists and Writers Charity Softball Game
The 65th
East Hampton Artists and Writers Softball Game will take place on
Saturday, August 17th, 2013 at 2PM in Herrick Park, in the heart of East Hampton Village. Batting Practice starts at noon. Stepping up to the plate this year for
the Artists will be Leif Hope, Eric Ernst, Ed Hollander, Christie
Brinkley, AnthonyWEHM, Josh Charles, Walter Bernard, Joel Perlman,
Gregg Bello,Randall Rosenthal, rookie Nathan Sawaya and Lori Singer among
many others. On the Writers side, team members include captains Ken Auletta & Mike Lupica, Carl
Bernstein, Mort Zuckerman, Ed Burns, Jim
Leyritz-rookies celebrity chef Tom
Colicchio and Matt Lauer -Rod Gilbert, Lawrence O’Donnell, Mark Green and
Richard Wiese. Juliet Papa, Bob Balaban, James Lipton and Fred
Graver will be in the broadcast booth announcing play-by-play and color of
the game.
Families
are invited to enjoy hot dogs and burgers, Joe & Liza’s Ice Cream &
Snapple at the game with dozens of raffles & games for the kids. Limited
edition 2013 Game T-shirts and hats, posters and notecards will also be
available for sale for the charities. The National Anthem will be performed by
Singers from dozens of Houses of Worship on the East End. Admission cost is $10 per person. Proceeds benefit: The Retreat, East End Hospice, Phoenix House and East Hampton Day Care and Learning Center.
