WSJ: 'Occupy' Spreads to Wealthy Enclaves
Occupy Wall Street gains traction where the 1 percent vacation, the Wall Street Journal reports.
Though critics said the movement could not take hold in the Hamptons — and other upscale places where Wall Streeters are known to have second homes — Occupy Wall Street has successfully spread to these areas, The Wall Street Journal reports.
Occupy the Hamptons has continuously held Sunday assemblies at various locations around Southampton and East Hampton towns since its at the in Sag Harbor, and has shown no signs of stopping.
Local organizer Ty Wenzel told The Wall Street Journal that Occupy the Hamptons is gearing up for the summer, when the Hamptons' population inflates with wealthy seasonal residents and visitors.
