Winter Storm Watch Issued for Tuesday Morning Through Wednesday

Two to 6 inches of snow forecast.

Snow, sleet and freezing rain are all on the horizon for Tuesday.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch that takes effects Tuesday morning and continues through Wednesday evening. Just 2 to 6 inches of snow and sleet are expected, but up to a quarter inch of ice accumulation is also possible by late Wednesday. The snow is expected to begin after midnight Monday night then transition to a wintry mix of sleet, snow and freezing rain Tuesday morning. It is expected to last most of the day, before becoming intermittet Tuesday evening. A heavy mix is forecast for Tuesday night.

The North Fork is expected to get the brunt of the storm, while the South Fork is forecast to get about two inches of snow and sleet accumulation.

Snow and ice accumulations will make for dangerous travel, the weather service warns, adding, "Ice accumulations could knock down from tree limbs and power lines.
