Winter Storm Warning Canceled; Winter Weather Advisory in Effect for Southampton
National Weather Service now says there will be less snow than originally expected.
A winter storm warning issued for Southampton has been canceled, according to the National Weather Service.
Joey Picca, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service office at Upton, said the winter storm warning has been replaced with a winter weather advisory for the East End.
Expected snowfall accumulation is now expected to be between 3 and 7 inches across eastern Suffolk County; areas on the far East End could receive higher amounts of snow, Picca said.
