A 55-year-old Southampton man was trapped in his vehicle after his sedan rolled over on North Sea Road between North Main Street and Bowden Square on Friday morning, said.

responded to a fuel spill Tuesday night at the northwest corner of County Road 39 and North Sea Road, where a motorist had apparently leaked several gallons of gas while fueling at Mobil then drove off, according to a department spokesman.


Police and fire units were called to Water Mill on Tuesday afternoon after a truck and bicycle collided on Montauk Highway. Bridgehampton Fire Department Ambulance Company loaded the male cyclist onto an ambulance on a stretcher for transportation to . The cyclist appeared conscious and alert, laying with arms crossed and his head and neck immobilized with a brace.


Excavation workers broke a gas main while digging in the area behind 75 Main on Main Street in Southampton Village on Tuesday afternoon, causing the Southampton Fire Department to evacuate Main Street, Southampton Fire Chief Rodney "Chip" Pierson said.


In the pre-dawn hours on March 26, said they discovered an unusual sight in the middle of County Road 39 in Southampton: an office chair that had been doused with gasoline and set aflame was burning in the middle of the roadway.

The Sag Harbor School Board voted March 26 to approve a 2.88 spending increase in the 2012-13 academic year — and it will be up to district voters on May 15 to give the $34.2 million budget final approval. After appropriating $500,000 from the district's fund balance to offset increasing costs, the proposed tax levy increase is about $600,000, or 1.94 percent, just under the mandatory 2 percent cap imposed by New York State.

A man with ties to North Sea pleaded not guilty Thursday morning to 14 third-degree burglaries and five second-degree armed robberies, including two in which prosecutors say he brandished a silver gun — which turned out to be a starter's pistol — in front of children no older than 12.


Police say intoxicated East Hampton man hit the guardrail while parking and took up two spaces.


Police say Oscar Mauricio Franco caused $1,500 of damage to parked car.


Police say Carmine Cornacchio was apprehended on foot after crashing.
