UPDATE: Water Service Restored to North Haven
Suffolk County Water Authority says break reported at 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
Update: 1:45 p.m.: Water service has been restored to the affected properties.
Update 1:15 p.m.: Suffolk County Water Authority spokesman Tim Motz said that water service should be restored within 90 minutes for the affected areas, which include the bulk of North Haven plus possibly Bay Point.

Suffolk County Water Authority is working to fix a water main break on North Haven that has left more than 300 properties without water service, spokesman Tim Motz said Thursday afternoon.
Motz said the break of an 8-inch pipe was reported in front of 90 Ferry Road at 9:30 a.m. and homes and businesses in the vicinity of Fresh Pond Road are affected.

The cause was not immediately clear, but Motz said, "Breaks in the winter are very common.”
Motz said an estimated time of service restoration is pending.
