Vanity Fair: White Family Farm May Be at Risk
Magazine reports on farming family in Sagaponack.
Sagaponack farmer John C. White sold a 10-acre portion of his family farm to ensure the future of his remaining 47 acres on the ocean, but the move may actually cost him the farm, Vanity Fair reports.
White, whose family has continuously farmed the land since 1695, sold the 10 acres to Houston oil mogul Anthony Petrello so Petrello could build his dream home and White's children could afford to pay the estate tax in the future, according to the report.
