Train Service on the East End Restored for Morning Commute

Speonk to Montauk is back in service, and Ronkonkoma to Greenport anticipated to be operating normally in the morning.

Train service east of Speonk on the Montauk branch was restored Wednesday night with the departure of the 8:53 p.m. train from Jamaica to Montauk. Service between Ronkonkoma and Greenport is expected to be restored in time for the morning commute Thursday, the Long Island Rail Road announced on its website.

Due to winter storms conditions, buses replaced regularly scheduled trains on the East End Wednesday, the LIRR website stated.
