The Winner: Readers Pick New Southampton Patch Facebook Cover Photo

Daniel Gonzalez's "Sunrise" gleans the most votes.

Sag Harbor photographer Daniel Gonzalez's "Sunrise" has been picked by Patch readers to be the next cover photo of Southampton Patch's Facebook page.

We started with more than 30 entries and narrowed the field to 10 nominees. Gonzalez' photo received 46 percent of the vote before the poll closed Friday.

The photo will appear atop Southampton Patch's Facebook page for the duration of February, at least.

Gonzalez is a freelance photographer who has contributed to Patch and in November 2011 Patch wrote a feature story on Gonzalez and his career, when he was chosen as an Artist of the Week.

Thanks to everyone who sent in photos, and those who voted. Based on the response, we will hold another contest in the future.

A gorgeous shot! However, assuming this is looking east from Long Wharf, the entire picture is actually showing East Hampton Town. The town line between Southampton and East Hampton Towns runs down Division Street in Sag Harbor, and actually goes a bit west of Long Wharf according to the town maps. Still, a stunning photo!

Peter, I am not sure if your assessment is in fact the case, but I can tell you that Southampton Patch's coverage area encompasses all of Sag Harbor Village.
