Southampton Plans Action Against New Gilt City House

After being booted from East Hampton Village, Gilt City wants to move the party to Bridgehampton.

The Southampton Town Board is convening for a special meeting Friday to authorize enforcement action against two houses — one of which is reported to be the new location of a month-long party already .

The month of poolside cocktails, yoga classes, cooking demonstrations and film screenings planned by Gilt City New York, an online group coupon business, was moved to 1432 Scuttle Hole Road in Bridgehampton, Curbed Hamptons reported Wednesday. The move came after East Hampton Village .

The village had issued Gilt City a mass gathering permit, but later realized the plans were for a commercial enterprise, Mayor Paul F. Rickenbach told East Hampton Patch.

Michael Sendlenski, the assistant town attorney for Southampton, said Friday that the town board will discuss authorizing the town attorney's office to head to New York State Supreme Court to seek an injunction or another legal action against Gilt City.

The second house on the agenda is at 2136 Deerfield Road in Noyac. Sendlenski said how the two houses are related will be discussed at the meeting.
