Southampton native and mortgage broker is scheduled to make his second appearance on CBS Money Watch’s call-in show on Wednesday, offering advice on attaining and refinancing mortgages.
He will be a guest of host Jill Schlesinger, the editor-at-large for CBS MoneyWatch.com and a finance expert. “She’s basically famous in the financial world,” Wright said.
Wright, a Southampton Patch blogger, was first invited on Money Watch’s “Ask the Experts” in March. “People loved it,” he said, noting that many listeners called in, including Southampton locals.
“I’m excited to go back again,” he added, saying now that he knows what to expect, he won’t be as nervous.
The show is shot at CBS Interactive Studio in Manhattan. Questions can cover many topics, including buying a home at a great price to trying to keep a home, Wright said. “We were overwhelmed with the questions,” he said. “That’s why they decided to do a second show.”
Wright is the senior loan officer and branch manager at on Main Street in Southampton Village. “We really focus on the local community,” he said. “It’s nice being on Main Street.”
As a third-party provider, Americana works with about 85 banks to find clients the right mortgage, Wright said. “There’s pretty much a bank for everybody.”
He was raised in Southampton, graduating from in 1998 and going on to earn a degree in marketing and finance from Marist College in Poughkeepsie. After college, he became an intern at UBS in New York, but he did not stay long before returning to the East End. “As great as Manhattan is, it’s not for me,” he said.
Wright has also appeared on local cable stations SEA-TV and LTV, and was recently a guest on LTV show “Voices of Wisdom.”
