Chase, this is Long Island's Tuckahoe hamlet.

Melvin, there is a Tuckahoe in Southampton Town: http://patch.com/L-dBjD It is both a hamlet and a school district here on Long Island.

Not interested in his new house. That's what's wrong with this country today...our focus is only on the material. In a time when so many people are going through hardship I would feel ashamed purchasing big homes. I would not want him for president because he is corrupt (bribing people to vote for his agenda). He could have done something good for someone in need, instead he gives 10 thousand dollars to four republican senators toget them to vote for his agenda. I think this is called bribary as well as conspiracy.

Sure would be a nice place to live.

I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT ONE DOLLAR A YEAR SETTLES ALL .
eileen July 28, 2011 at 06:05 AM
i don't like Bloomberg and I don't like him taking away my money (raises), but his money is his and he does not have to give it to anyone, he can spend it as he chooses..also Jackie, daphne was asking a question no need to be insulting, there is a Tuckahoe in Westchester.....
Barbara Herrold July 28, 2011 at 06:10 AM
This is a magnificent piece of property, absolutely beautiful, and he paid for it with his money. He gives tremendous amounts away in charity and seems to be a pretty classy guy. He's a good guy and deserves all the best. And, I am sure he has helped many people with his generosity, whereas a lot of rich folk don't give a damn about those less fortunate. Kudos Mr. Mayor!!!!

Its sad that people think that this man needs to not live in a nice home in order to give all his money to "New Yorkers" in need. There are over 22,000,000 which in the 5 boroughs and no matter how much money a person have within a month or 2 trying to help all these people, his money would be gone! This man only accepts a dollar a year, ride the subway to work everyday, and managed to effectively manage NYC's budget for 3 terms now...he is doing more then enough to try to keep new yorkers in ny...maybe you people should let this man have his house and complain about the real issues like holding landlords accountable for charging $3000-$5000+ for apartments that are clearly worth $800 or how you have to give everything but blood in order to qualify for an apartment all for you not to get your 2+ months security deposit back because there was some dust on your window sill...complain about that... then maybe there will be less homeless! The mayor is doing a good job so let him have his house, he is a 3 term mayor and a self made billionaire in which he has been years. Clearly this man knows how to run a city and manage money!
david k July 28, 2011 at 08:17 AM
all in favor of Bloomberg must not only not live in NY but but have never set foot in it. A terrible, crazy elitist who has circumvented the democratic rules and wishes of the city and will stop at nothing until every penny has been extracted from the hard working man to fund his social utopia which headlines him as the POTUS.
Allan July 28, 2011 at 09:30 AM
Funny how anger, and jealousy is expressed. Your critisizing a self made billionaire. A man who WORKED HARD to HAVE what he has. He has the priviledge of buying whatever he wants. As opposed to those who think he is obligated to bail out lazy, non creative, dregs of society who would probably just love to tap into the 'government assistance' gravy train and continue to tear down our city as opposed to contributing to it. GET A JOB. Its no longer the god old days where jobs and earning was easy. ITs more competitive. Learn something new. Change the game within your own life. Stop putting down people who THINK, CREATE and WORK to make a difference. STOP complaining! We would be blessed to have such success in the White House. Boomberg is the antithesis of Bush, ans Obama brains doesn'r seem to be anough to really make the difference...so maybe a littlebusinees savvy would work better for us all.
Kristelll July 28, 2011 at 09:39 AM
I was thinking the same thing. Tuckahoe is in Westchester, not Long Island. To Jackie who is telling you to learn geography, she needs to pick up a map of NY.
Kristelll July 28, 2011 at 09:43 AM
to Jerry...why wouldn't it make sense for him to want to be in Westchester? Westchester is beautiful & in my opinion, the nicest county in NY, not to mention the fact that its a close commute to the shitty city. FYI, Bloomberg already owns property in Westchester, so obviously it does make sense that he would want to be there.
Kristelll July 28, 2011 at 09:47 AM
you are so on point...i totally agree with you. this is what is wrong with the world, some have waaaayyyy to much, while others have nothing. Is this justice? is this the type of world we live in? unfortunately, yes. give it a little time & we will be like a 3rd world country, only rich & poor...no more middle class cause we all know more & more of the middle class are now becoming the poor.
Kristelll July 28, 2011 at 10:02 AM
yeah, a 3 term mayor which is not even legal!!!!!!!!!!!! No other mayor has EVER been permitted to run a 3rd term, but here is Mr. Moneybags buying his way into another term. most people in NY did not agree with him running again & believe me, public opinion on him has changed drastically since his first term. he is nasty, condiscending, self righteous & selfish. instead of spending millions of dollars on his 3rd campaign, he could have donated that money to the city of NY & i guarantee he would have a lot more respect from the residents of what is becoming one of the worst cities for anyone who is not considered rich to live in. how exactly has he managed NYC's budget??? oh yeah, that's right...he's closing tons of schools, hundreds of teachers are losing their jobs...among many other financial problems that this city & the whole country are facing right now. what are you smoking that u think this arrogant man is helping this city??? BRING BACK GUILIANI!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now there's a man that should be our next president!
Kay Ganzel July 28, 2011 at 11:30 AM
Please give Michel Bloomberg some credit. He is the biggest fundraiser for ALS andhis employers love him. Kay
Cathy July 28, 2011 at 01:13 PM
must be nice !!!!!!
JH July 28, 2011 at 01:22 PM
You are soooooo right! He's earned it. It's HIS money and he can do whatever he wants with it! That's the 'American Dream' that Obama is trying to destroy...........
Philip Kojo Gyan July 28, 2011 at 01:42 PM
IF U THINK OBAMA IS TRYING TO DESTROY THE AMERICAN DREAM YOU ARE AN IDIOT,IF THATS THE CASE THEN THERE IS NO AMERICAN DREAM BECAUSE GEORGE BUSH BURNED IT TO ASHES.GET OVER YOURSELF
Furtgo July 28, 2011 at 01:57 PM
I disagree Claudia; he should not be ashamed to be able to buy the house. If you have the money, spend it; that's the only way to get people working. Lawyers, secretaries and clerks were paid in purchasing the house; and there's bound to be renovations, clean up, new furniture, fill the fridge etc. This one purchase will positively affect a lot of lives… the exact opposite of his education program.
Mary Beth July 28, 2011 at 02:02 PM
I thought the American dream was peace, equality and opportunity for all.
Eliz July 28, 2011 at 02:13 PM
It's his money - he can do as he pleases. He quietly supports many charities, etc .
Mike July 28, 2011 at 02:23 PM
He should be able to buy this kind of house if he has the money, no issue there however, he shouldn't be telling others to do with less and use less resources and go without when he doesn't follow his own 'demands' on others. Just another example of the liberal "DO AS I TELL YOU NOT AS I DO FOR MYSELF" theory. I could careless about his $$$ or his houses, he earned go spend it as you like, I do with my money at this point however, I see people like this guy and Dumbo trying to take more and more of my money away from me.
Mary Beth July 28, 2011 at 02:37 PM
"It's his money - he can do as he pleases." Many said the same thing when he bought his third term
Lori Corsello-Hannan July 28, 2011 at 03:31 PM
Settle down, Beavis. No one said he can't.
LOVE MY WP July 28, 2011 at 04:44 PM
All these people that say he bought his 3rd term, get it straight. He MIGHT have bought the RIGHT to run for a third term. He did not pay each voter to vote for him. He was elected the third time by the majority as he was the first and second terms.
Kristelll July 28, 2011 at 05:48 PM
He may have made his billions on his own & that's great. But there is no need to treat the common normal people of this city like we don't matter...there are plenty more of us, than there are the rich! While the rich get takes breaks, the middle class has to pay through the ass for everything! Allan, i don't know what you do for a living or how much you make but u need a reality check. There are plenty of intelligent, educated, creative people that are still losing their jobs, or have been unemployed for a long time now.
les July 29, 2011 at 11:33 PM
Well they wouldnt let Rudy j run a 3rd term take it from there .....................
Diane Sadowski May 02, 2012 at 06:59 PM
Do you think he is interested in educating the children of the employees that he needs to work on his wonderful enormous estate and eclusive golf courses that he probably enjoys? Tuckahoe is in dire need of some revenues to educate the worker's children. I am all for education. How about you Mr. Bloomberg? YOu and your fellow golfer millionaires are creating a burden for the few residences in this exclusive golfing area. Does anyone know what the National Golf LInks pays yearly in property tax? I heard there was some sort of legislation that was passed a long time ago to give those poor golf courses a break.
Jaguar-Guy May 02, 2012 at 08:39 PM
Nice person, good heart. He'd never have a chance at President.
