Person Struck on Train Tracks; Service Suspended

No trains are running between Sayville and Montauk on the Montauk branch.

Train service between Sayville and Montauk is currently suspended after an "unauthorized person" was struck on the train tracks Sunday morning, according to the Long Island Rail Road.

An eastbound train that left Babylon at 8:21 a.m. struck the person in Bayport, the LIRR said. LIRR did not comment on the condition or identity of the victim.

The 9:41 a.m. train from Jamaica and due in Speonk at 11:17 a.m., will be stop at Babylon and customers will be accommodated as far as Oakdale by the next eastbound train, arriving in Babylon at 10:46 a.m.

The 8:21 a.m. Babylon train due in Speonk at 9:21 a.m. is being delayed east of Sayville.

The 8:10 a.m. Jamaica train due in Montauk at 10:46 AM, is being held in Sayville.
