Over 1,200 in North Sea Without Power Before Expected Snowfall

Wind gusts of up to 65 miles per hour forecasted before an expected three to five inches of snow.

Over 1,200 individuals in the North Sea area are without power as of Saturday around 9:30 p.m.

The power outages come as the National Weather Service has issued a handful of weather advisories for the area, including a high wind warning and coastal flood advisory.

Winds gusts up to 65 miles per hour are expected, mostly ranging in the 25 to 35 mile per hour range.

More notable for October, the NWS is also forecasting three to five inches of snow by early Sunday morning, calling it "a historic early season snowstorm for the Tri-State region."

According to a LIPA power outage map, the North Sea area should be plugged back in by 10:00 p.m.
