More Snow Expected for East End on Friday

Forecast is for 2 to 5 inches, with select areas accumulating as many as 6 inches of snow.

Between 2 and 5 inches of snowfall is expected for the East End Friday, with some areas getting as much as 6 inches.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for Long Island effective Friday morning through late Friday night. Light snow is forecast for the morning, with heavier snowfall expected late Friday morning and into the evening, possibly impacting the afternoon commute.

There is a potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations, the weather service warns.

There is also a chance of snow flurries before midnight Thursday and snow is likely Saturday morning before noon.

The forecast high temperature for Friday is 36 degrees, with a low of  approximately 26.
