in Sag Harbor will be closed for 12 days starting Monday. It is moving to a temporary location that will serve at the library's home for between 18 and 24 months while the building undergoes a renovation and expansion project.
The temporary library is at 34 West Water Street, across from the and will open at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 2. Patrons who request books online during the 10-day period should plan to pick up their books at , East Hampton Library or , John Jermain advises. Starting July 11, patrons may begin to pick up books at John Jermain's temporary location.
Rogers, East Hampton and Hampton libraries will extend full borrowing privileges to Jermain patrons from June 20 until John Jermain returns to Main Street.
The West Water Street facility is smaller than the library on Main Street and will not carry the entire collection, but books in storage can be delivered to the library with a day's notice, the library's blog states. The blog also reports that there will be wi-fi, public computers, "a small program room and a cozy area for story time for the kids."
Fines for overdue materials will be waived for the month of July for patrons who visit the temporary library and use or update their cards.
