UPDATE: Hundreds Lose Power in Shinnecock Hills

Long Island Power Authority reports power is back on in Shinnecock Hills.

Update: Power is restored in Shinnecock Hills and Water Mill to all but a few homes, LIPA is reporting. Fifteen homes in Southampton are still waiting for service to be restored, but LIPA says the situation should be resolved by 10 p.m.

Earlier:

The Long Island Power Authority storm center is reporting that 543 customers have lost power in Shinnecock Hills, though LIPA projects service will be restored around 7:30 p.m.

Earlier, 608 Shinnecock Hills residences or businesses had no power.

Additionally 38 LIPA customers in Water Mill are experiencing an outage that has gone on for most of the day and is not expected to be fixed until around 8:30 p.m. Fifteen are without power in Southampton, but the situation should be resolved around 8 p.m., according to LIPA.

North Sea and Bridgehampton both have a few LIPA customers waiting for their electricity to be restored.
