Hamptons Weekend Agenda: Parrish Midsummer Party, a Taste of Land and Sea

Many benefits, music performances, festivals and fairs are planned this weekend on the South Fork.

From Montauk to Westhampton Beach, here are some of the hottest events happening in the Hamptons this weekend, plus a selection of  North Fork and Shelter Island events.

MONTAUK


The Backyard Restaurant at
presents Grammy Award-winning British trio Dirty Vegas at 7 p.m. Saturday. The free performance is the second installment in the “Montauk Acoustic Sunsets” series, an extension of the Music To Know (MTK) music festival.

“Girls of Summer,” a burlesque production by New York City’s Sugar Shack Burlesque, starts at 11 p.m. Saturday at the Backyard Restaurant at . Admission is free but there will be a drink minimum.

EAST HAMPTON


The Montauk Lions, East Hampton Rotary Club and the Kiwanis Club of East Hampton Foundation have cooked up LobsterFest to benefit local charities between 4 and 8 p.m. Saturday at the Gardiner Estate. Dinner of lobster, clams, mussels, corn, potatoes, cole slaw, watermelon, hamburgers, hot dogs and soft drinks will be served while local talent performs. Take out orders will also be available.  Admission is $45 for adults, $5 for children under 12.


Regina Maeir, a life-long resident of East Hampton, is need of a kidney transplant, and her family is facing significant medical expenses not covered by insurance.  A will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday at . The event will include a DJ, dancing, chance at a 50/50 raffle, a Chinese auction, prizes and food. There will be a cash bar. RSVP is requested. Tickets are $20.


Tastings from East Hampton’s finest restaurants, clam, wine, vodka bars and music by the Nancy Atlas Project will mark the third annual Taste of Land and Sea benefit to aid and the The Springs Community Seedlings Project at 7 p.m. Friday at . Tickets can be bought online or at the door for $75.


Alec Baldwin, Jerry Adler, Melissa Errico, Harris Yulin and Sam Underwood star in a staged reading of The Gift of the Gorgon by Peter Shaffer at 8 p.m. Friday at , directed by Tony Walton; a Q&A session will follow.  Prime orchestra tickets are $50. Reserved seating is $30.


To help raise money for the family of , a Montauk chiropractor who died from hantavirus, a spin class will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at .

BRIDGEHAMPTON


Featuring more than 4,000 artworks made by 500 artists and exhibited by 77 galleries, international fine art fair ArtHamptons is back for its fourth consecutive summer in Bridgehampton. The fair is open all weekend in Sayre Park. Daily admission is $20. For each day of the fair, the admission proceeds benefit a different area organization, including the and the .


“Visual Images of 100 Years of Farming in Greater Bridgehampton” opens at 5 p.m. Friday at the . The exhibition features photos of historic farms and those who farmed them in the Bridgehampton, Sagaponack, Mecox and Hayground areas. Admission is free.

SOUTHAMPTON


The  will hold its annual Greek Festival this weekend at the fairgrounds. Festival hours are July 7, 8, 9: 4 to 11 p.m. and July 10, noon to 9 p.m. Admission is free.


The annual party includes dancing, cocktails and dinner on the museum grounds. Tickets start at $1,000 each for the dinner portion, which begins with cocktails at 6:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. The "After 10 Party" starts at 10 p.m. and includes dancing, drinks and dessert for $150 per person.

SAG HARBOR


Betty's Summer Vacation
by Christopher Durang runs through July 31. The play is a comedy about a young woman who spends the summer in a beach town, which becomes a summer share nightmare. Trip Cullman directs the play, starring John Behlmann, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Veanne Cox, Tom Riis Farrell and Heidi Schreck as Betty. Tickets are $55 or $65. See it this Friday and Saturday 8 p.m. and Sunday at 7 p.m. at .

HAMPTON BAYS


Brian and Eddie are going on their seventh year as the Sunday band at in Hampton Bays. They perform between 3:30 and 6:30 p.m.

WESTHAMPTON BEACH/WESTHAMPTON


Join the "American Band" for a live performance playing classic hits from their platinum and gold albums at 8:30 p.m. Sunday at . Grand Funk Railroad has sold out shows around the world and will be in town for one night. The band has new members formerly of the band Kiss. Tickets are $115, $95 or $80.


Paula Poundstone will be on stage with a stool, microphone and a diet Pepsi telling jokes about politics and men at 8:30 p.m. Saturday at . The award winning comic has been on HBO, Bravo and other networks. She has also been named one of the 100 Greatest Stand Ups of all time. Also a published writer, her works have been in Glamour, Entertainment Weekly and Buzz. The comedian also blogs for The Huffington Post. Tickets are $65, $50 or $40.


Bideawee, a pet adoption and animal welfare organization, is hosting its third annual “Doggie Social” at noon Saturday in Westhampton. Families and their companion dogs are invited to the 150-acre site on Old County Road.


Family Counseling Services will hold their annual gala at 7 p.m. Saturday this year honoring  and PAC director Clare Bisceglia for their dedication to the community.  The event takes place on Westhampton Beach’s Great Lawn. Admission is $250.

NORTH FORK


Love Lane in Mattituck will be closed to traffic and lined with dozens of food and craft vendors on Saturday for the 34th annual Mattituck Street Fair. The popular event takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and features vendors, music, merchandise, a raffle and more — rain or shine. Admission is free.

SHELTER ISLAND


Help out the Gift of Life Foundation charity organization to the music of Gene Casey and the Lone Sharks and the Who Dat Loungers at a benefit concert on Shelter Island at 8 p.m. Saturday night. The show will be held on the property of filmmaker Joe Lauro, who organizes the event. All proceeds will be donated to the Island Gift of Life Foundation. Admission is $25 at the door only.
