Friends Raise Funds for Mick Hargreaves

Donations are being collected for the medical bills of a musician attacked with a crowbar; a benefit concert is in the works.

Friends and family members of Mick Hargreaves of Southampton have been changing their Facebook profile pictures to his image this week to show solidarity as Hargreaves recovers from early Sunday in Bayport outside a tavern where he performed with his band hours earlier.

Now they are using the social networking site to spread the word about donating to his recovery fund.

"So many wonderful friends and fans want to lend support to Mick Hargreaves in his difficult recovery from a severe head injury, sustained last weekend in a vicious and unprovoked attack," reads the Mick Hargreaves Recovery Fund Facebook event page, created by Laura Perrotti.
