Former Trustee: 'The Most Expensive Ice Cream in the Hamptons'

Holding up a photo of a 6-foot tall ice cream cone sculpture, which has been the subject of an ongoing lawsuit in Westhampton Beach, former Westhampton Beach Trustee Joan Lavan declared it is "the most expensive ice cream cone in the Hamptons."

Levan was standing before the village board Thursday night arguing that the village board has spent more than $18,000 in lawyer fees to recoup a $750 ticket for a sign ordinance violation that was issued to Shock Ice Cream owner Elyse Richman three years ago when she displayed the cone for a child's birthday party.

Man Who Taped Models' Dressing Room Sentenced

Robert Liguori, a level-two sex offender, was sentenced to one-and-a-half to three years in prison Wednesday for secretly videotaping swimwear models in a dressing room during a fashion show in Southampton Village.

Liguori, 52, of Mastic Beach, previously pleaded guilty to eight felony counts of unlawful surveillance for the July 2012 incident.  According to authorities, he was working at the event as a freelance photographer when he entered the makeshift curtained changing area and placed a video camera on the shelf.

On Wednesday, Liguori was brought before Judge Barbara Kahn in handcuffs. Assistant District Attorney Jonathan Manley told Kahn that Liguori has been a level-two sex offender since he was convicted in 2000 for transmitting pornography. Manley said Liguori has an admitted history of exhibitionism and voyeurism, including dressing room voyeurism.
