County Road 39A to Close for 2 or 3 Nights in March

Traffic will be redirected during roadwork.

Part of County Road 39A in Southampton will be closed overnight for two or three nights in March due to roadwork.

The Suffolk County Department of Public Works and the Long Island Rail Road will be implementing safety upgrades at a LIRR crossing as part of an ongoing road widening project.

The closure will be in effect between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. on the nights of March 12 and March 13, and possibly March 14.

Eastbound traffic on County Road 39 will be sent south to David Whites Lane and then east on Hampton Road.

Westbound traffic from Montauk Highway/State Route 27 will be directed to continue straight on Hampton Road, then north to County Road 39.

Questions may be directed to the Southampton Town Transportation & Traffic Safety Office at 631-283-5210.
