County Deeds Windmill Beach to Sag Harbor

Village will take over ownership of small beach at heart of Sag Harbor.

Months after the Suffolk County Legislature and County Executive Steve Bellone approved the transfer, the deed to Windmill Beach was handed over to Sag Harbor Village on Aug. 2

Legislator Jay Schneiderman, I-Montauk, presented the document to the village trustees at the beach, which is next to the , another asset that the county is considering handing over to the village.

Schneiderman sponsored the resolution that authorized the transfer, which was adopted with a 17-1 vote on March 13 and signed by Bellone March 27.

7 representatives of the taxpayers taking half a day off to travel to Sag Harbor for a photo op. This was a paper transfer worthy of nothing more than perhaps a quick mention by Rusty Potz tomorrow morning. How many politicians does it take to file a transfer of deed in the county clerk's office? Now we know.
