CLOSINGS: Jitney, Transfer Stations, Parrish Art Museum, Beaches

A number of cancellations, closings and postponements have arisen in Southampton due to Hurricane Irene . This list will be updated as information becomes available.

will be suspending service after 7:30 p.m. on Saturday evening going westbound, and will resume service Sunday evening at 5:30 p.m. from Southampton, providing that public roads are open. A spokeswoman said additional westbound cancellations are possible Saturday. "Passengers headed west towards NYC on Saturday should make their travel arrangements as early in the day as possible," she said. "We are expecting major service disruptions and cancellations on Sunday."

is closed Saturday through Monday. "If you are planning a visit early next week, we suggest calling the Museum at 631-283-2118 to confirm we are open," a Parrish email reads.

's Saturday and Sunday evening performances of "" have been canceled. A matinee performance has been added Sept. 3 at 4 p.m. The Andrea Martin performance for Monday is also canceled.

The Southampton Town Waste Management Transfer Stations in Westhampton, Hampton Bays, and will be closed Sunday. "Waste Management will open on Monday, August 29, 2011 prepared to document receipt of storm related debris received from the Highway Department and associated Hwy Contractors," an announcement on the town website reads.

The Long Island Rail Road is that were scheduled to depart after noon Saturday.

The Hampton Classic Horse Show is now , rather than the original opening date of Sunday.

Southampton Village Beaches closed Friday at 2 p.m.

The Suffolk County Department of Health Services has issued an advisory against bathing at , Southampton Peconic Beach & Tennis Club and . "The department recommends that bathing and other water contact be suspended in affected areas until the waters have been flushed by four successive tidal cycles (at least a 48-hour period) after the cessation of rainfall," the department wrote in statement Friday. "Unless sampling done by the department finds elevated bacterial numbers persisting beyond the 48-hour period, this advisory will be lifted as of Wednesday morning."
