Biker Mostly Unscathed After Being Hit by SUV

A biker from Montauk was back on his feet Thursday shortly after being struck by a Mercedes-Benz SUV in Sag Harbor Village.

said Leticia Ventura hit motorcyclist Sidney Hughes on Hampton Road, though police could not immediately offer further details.

Photos of the aftermath of the accident show the motorcycle wedged upright under the bumper of the SUV, which had one wheel in the air.

Hughes' fellow biker and friend Justin Portell said that Hughes — rather than being thrown from the bike during the accident — was on the motorcycle the whole time.

Hughes was airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center and released around midnight, when members of the Enders Motorcycle Club picked him up, Portell said.
