Adam Haslett Discusses Novel at Hampton Library

Author coming to Bridgehampton on July 22 for "Fridays at Five."

New England Author Adam Haslett will discuss his first novel, Union Atlantic, at in Bridgehampton on July 22 as part of the library’s “” series.

Haslett wrote the New York Times bestseller You Are Not a Stranger Here, a short story collection that was a finalist for both the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award and was named the third best fiction book by Time in 2002. According to the library, his work has appeared in The Financial Times, Esquire, New York Magazine, The New Yorker, The Atlantic Monthly and The Nation.

Union Atlantic, which came out in paperback in the spring, has won a Lambda Literary Award.

Haslett has received fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation and the Fine Arts Work Center and he has won the PEN/Malamud Award for accomplishment in short fiction and the PEN/Winship Award for the best book by a New England author. 

The “Fridays at Five” discussion is followed by a Q&A session and Haslett will sign copies of his book. The program takes place in the rear garden of the . Beverages and hors d’oevres will be served. Admission is $15. Tickets can be purchased at the gate, which opens at 4:30.
