French fashion designer Juliette Longuet visited Tate's Bake Shop in Southampton Village recently to interview proprietor Kathleen King for a "Hamptons Hamptons" segment on her international television show "New York New York - Paris Paris."
King explained how she got into the business, and how she designs her recipes.
"We bake them thin and crisp because I like all the flavors to come out of the cookie," King said. "Sometimes when you eat a cookie it just takes sweet. but ... I like to taste the butter and the caramelization of the sugar and the chocolate or the ginger. Whatever's in it, I want to taste that also."
She said she started selling cookies when she was 11 so she could buy clothes for school.
