Topiaire's Erin Hattrick Opens Candy Shop

Southampton Village's Topiaire Flower Shop has opened a second Jobs Lane storefront, which is both a candy shop and an overflow for the busy florist.

Owner Erin Hattrick said Thursday that she was running out of space in her primary location at 51 Jobs Lane, both to display and store flowers and to prepare bouquets and other orders.

Now, the annex at 47B Jobs Lane, in Days Court, displays the overflow stock, and it is where outgoing orders are shelved before they are picked up or delivered.

"You can make yourself a coffee and watch the flowers go by," Hattrick said.

The coffee, as well as iced tea, are free, for as long as she can manage to provide them complimentary, she said.

The walls are decorated with her sister Lynn Mara's paintings, and her sister Ellen Martin works at Topiaire — and brews hibiscus tea for the customers.

Hattrick said she and her siblings were raised to entertain, and that is reflected in the shop. "We want you to sit and get immersed in our world."

The new shop is located in the storefront that formerly housed Going Nuts, a candy store that closed in January after 30 years when the owner retired.
