Southampton's Best: Chicken Wings

Wings are more than appetizers; they are bone-sucking goodness. Which joint makes the best? Time to weigh in.

Do you like them crispy or naked? Hot and spicy or lip-smacking sweet? We’re talking wings, of course.

Chicken wings are a staple in any culture and they have a place on the menus of nearly every pub or take-out joint in Southampton.

Time to weigh in. Southampton Patch is looking to unearth the best wings in town. Southampton's Best is a new weekly feature where we’re asking you — our readers — to tell us your top picks.

Each Monday we’ll list our nominees — this week it’s wings — and ask for your recommendation. Did we leave your go-to spot off the list? Go ahead and add it in a comment below.

Wednesday we’ll narrow the field, taking your recommendations to put to a vote in the ultimate food-fight poll.

Friday afternoon we’ll announce a winner.

Here are the nominees for Southampton's best wings:

La Pizzaiola
Foody's
LT Burger in the Harbor
Townline BBQ
Agave Bar & Mexican Grill
M.J. Dowlings Steak House and Tavern
Barrister's
Fellingham's
The Corner Bar
Princess Diner
Dragon Garden
Paul's
Publick House
Dockside Bar & Grill
Sing City
The Driver's Seat

I am "THE" wing critic. Princess Diner has really good wings. I havent eaten the wings at all the places listed but Princess makes them crispy, and will spice them up to your liking. Unlike most places they give you an ample amount of blue cheese dressing and serve the wings on a bed of lettuce that is delicious after you finish your wings and it has the dressing and wing sauce on them.

M.J.Dowlings, Noyac, wings, medium heat, are excellent and the flavor has been consistant for the past 3 years. Also the Corner Bar, Sag Harbor, are very good.

Tidewaters has got the best wings for sure. Hot but not excessively, plain and simple, the way they were meant to be.

The Shinnecock Indian Outpost hands down. Especially when Saquoya makes her secret sauce!
