The Hamptons Visitors Council, a coalition of the six chambers of commerce in Southampton Town, has chosen its board of directors, and Micah Schlendorf has been named chairman.
Schlendorf is the president of the Southampton Chamber of Commerce and a vice president and East Hampton Pantigo branch manager at Suffolk County National Bank.
The Hamptons Visitors Council, founded on 1991, helps promote tourism and economic development, Schlendorf said in a statement. He said the newly elected board of directors will revitalize and reorganize the council.
"We are passionate about our individual hamlets and 'The Hamptons' brand as a whole," Schlendorf said. "As a world renowned vacation destination with #1 rated beaches, cultural activities, fresh local produce, wineries, shopping, dining and lodging there is something for everyone to enjoy. Our goal is to utilize all of our resources to entice people to discover a place we proudly call home."
Stan Glinka, the president of the Hampton Bays Chamber of Commerce, was elected vice chairman of the HVC; Dot Capuano, of the Hampton Bays Chamber, and Reeni Brill, of the Westhampton Chamber, were named secretaries; and Millie Fellingham, a member of the Southampton Chamber, was elected treasurer.
The directors are Kelly Connaughton (Sag Harbor), Erin Hattrick-Meaney (Southampton), Scott Horowitz (East Quogue), Donna Lanzetta (East Quogue), David MacMillan (Sag Harbor) and Karen McNamarra (Westhampton).
