Sequin Popup Returns for Extended Stay

Costume jewelry boutique comes back to Southampton Village.

Sequin, a costume jewelry boutique, has come back to Southampton Village for a second summer, and this year the pop-up shop will be sticking around through December.

The popup was open at 20 Job Lane in 2012 from Memorial Day until shortly after Labor Day. It reopened in May 2013 at the same location.

The shop carries Sequin's own line of jewelry, plus a collection by Badgley Mischka.

Store manager Kristina Neknez, a Southampton native, said many customers come to Sequin to find an accessory for going out that complements a dress, or to pick out a gift.

"It's always colorful," Neknez said of Sequin's jewelry. "We never have anything dull or plain."

Sequin was founded by sisters Kim and Linda Renk, of Minnesota.

Neknez said the Badgley Mischka jewelry that Sequin carries is flashy, made with semi-precious stones.

Prices range from $28 for Sequin bangles -- a popular gift purchase, Neknez said -- to $600.

The shop and window display were decorated by Sequin designer Pamela Atwood, of New York, who will be back in July to decorate it all over again. Neknez said the store was also redecorated in the middle of last summer, to get some change and variety in the store.

Sequin also has locations in Palm Beach and Naples, Fla., Newport, R.I., Martha's Vineyard, Mass., and, the newest store, in Delray Beach, Fla.
