Sag Harbor Cafe Gets the Boot

Java Nation owners say they don't know why their landlord is forcing them out, The East Hampton Star reports.

The proprietors of Java Nation, a Sag Harbor coffee shop at the Shopping Cove off Main Street, were notified last month that they need to be out by Jan. 31 to make way for another cafe, breaking their 17-year month-to-month agreement with their landlord, according to an report.

The new tenant, Shane Dyckman, and wife Tisha Collette, who own and operate Flying Point Surf School in Southampton Village and in Southampton and Sag Harbor, have come under fire for replacing Java Nation, as has the landlord, Bruce Slovin, The Star reports.

But Java Nation's Andres and Cheryl Bedini told The Star that they aim to re-open at another Sag Harbor location.
