Resto-blogger Explains Southfork Kitchen's Fate

Bruce Buschel returns to his New York Times blog to reveal why his Bridgehampton restaurant did not return for a third season.

For those wondering why Southfork Kitchen did not return for a 2013 season in Bridgehampton, the owner and New York Times blogger Bruce Buschel is shedding some light.

On Wednesday, nytimes.com posted the first in a series by Buschel on how it came to be that his buzzed about restaurant that opened in 2011 is no more.

In his first entry, he discusses the challenges of operating a restaurant in a seasonal area such as the Hamptons, and his experiences with real estate brokers.

On the Southfork Kictehn website, in place of the restaurant hours it reads, "Gone Fishin', Permanently."

In the spring, Chef Todd Jacobs opened Fresh in the Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike space where Southfork Kitchen was one located.
