If you have been long-hankering for a good burger, your day is here.
Bay Burger, in Sag Harbor, opened for the season on Friday. The burger joint will now be open six days a week (closed Tuesdays) from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
While Bay Burger also offers turkey, fish and veggie options, it's the beef burger that is the counter-service restaurant's signature offering.
Bay Burger's meat is ground fresh daily on-site, and the buns are baked fresh. For $8, the burger includes 1/3 of a pound beef, with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles, and a choice of American, Swiss, cheddar or blue cheese. Sautéed onions are an additional $0.50, and bacon is $1. A side plate of fries, tater tots or a mix of both is $3.
The couple behind Bay Burger, Joe and Liza Tremblay, also have their own eponymous brand of ice cream, made locally, Joe & Liza's Ice Cream, served at Bay Burger and available at local stores.
Bay Burger's weekly, no-cover jazz jam returns Thursdays from 7 to 9 p.m. Each week, the session is recorded by Plus Nine Productions, to be condensed to one hour and broadcast on WPPB 88.3 FM on Wednesdays from 7 to 8 p.m.
The burger joint, which opened in 2007 in the building that housed Whalerburger in the '70s, has both indoor and patio seating, as well as take out.
Bay Burger is located at 1742 Sag Harbor Turnpike, Sag Harbor.
