A roundup of business news on the East End.

Here's a look at some business news on the East End:

Golden Eagle Opens in New Location in East Hampton

Golden Eagle, an arts supply store founded in 1954, has reopened in a new location in East Hampton Village.

Just over a week ago, the store opened at 79 Newtown Lane, next to the UPS Store and across the street from the East Hampton Middle School.

In July, store owners announced the landlord leased their space at 14 Gingerbread Lane in the village to another tenant, which turned out to be Amagansett Applied Arts. The owners said they would close Sept. 30.

Mets Hall of Famer Helps Open Dick's Sporting Goods

New York Mets Hall of Fame member John Franco made a sea of customers happy with autographs and photos on Route 58 in Riverhead Saturday.

Franco stopped by the new Dick's location at 1779 Old Country Road on Saturday from 11 until 1 p.m., smiling for photos and signing autographs and baseball mitts for fans, some of them small children.

The sports legend appeared as part of a three-day grand-opening celebration at Dick's, which began on Friday, with special giveaways, including a free Mystery Gift Card from $5 to $500 for the first 100 adults in line on Friday and Saturday, a free Under Armour Tech T-shirt for the first 100 people in line on Saturday, and a free Scratch & Win card, where every card is a winner, for the first 100 adults in line on Sunday.
