Westhampton Beach Farmers Market Opening Day Set
The popular Westhampton Beach Farmers Market is ready to open for the season, according to new market manager Barbara Riegger.
The Westhampton Chamber of Commerce-sponsored market will officially open on May 11 with a vine cutting ceremony scheduled for 9 a.m.
This season, the market, said Reigger, will feature over 45 Long island vendors, selling goods, including cheese, eggs, fish, chickens, vegetables, gourmet items, spice rubs and sauces, herbs and flowers.

Alex and Ani Shoppers Give to Southampton Animal Shelter
On Monday, which was Earth Day, Alex and Ani jewelry and accessories shop in Southampton Village hosted a benefit for the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation.
During the shopping event, 15 percent of sale proceeds were designated for the shelter in Hampton Bays, according to a shelter statement.
Alex and Ani's bangles, rings, earrings and other products are made in America and designed by founder Carolyn Rafaelian to be eco-friendly. The company refers to its accessories as "positive energy products that adorn the body, enlighten the mind, and empower the spirit."

Businesses Sought For East End Employment Expo
Good news for individuals looking for a job: The Riverhead Chamber of Commerce and the Riverhead Industrial Development Agency have once again joined forces to host the East End Employment Expo for Riverhead and the surrounding areas.
The event will be held on Tuesday, May 21 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Sea Star Ballroom, adjacent to the Long Island Aquarium & Exhibition Center.

Linda Stavrinos, the owner of Glittzee Gal Creations, which is located at the corner of Pike Street and Love Lane, said her passion for jewelry creation -- all of the pieces in her shop are handmade and personalized -- was born as a hobby.
