Plowing - Or Lack Thereof

snow storm

The plows have been plowing Moriches Road and Mills Pond Road, St. James yesterday and have been here on these roads about 15 times today. A plow went by at 7:50 pm, 8:10, 8:13 Sunday night on 2/10/13. They pass Evon Lane each time, and yet we still have not had our road plowed..

You need to ask yourself why the press isn't asking these questions.

a nurse that I work with who got stranded with her boyfriend this past Friday talked to one of the guys that was off on the side of the road not plowing. He said they were waiting for confirmation that they were getting paid before actually plowing. This was out in Middle Island on Rt. 25. Are these guys union? Sounds like something a union would do.

I'm sure you go to work without being paid...

Yes. When I go to the delivery room I ask for payment in advance before I recusitate their child..... Two words: union sheep.

@Fred Stewart: so much for the public good, right? Forgo a selfless act with your ability to fold your arms and cross your legs to do nothing. Many folks out there work on straight salaries, and sometimes they have to work extra hours and don't get an extra dime for it. Perhaps we should impose this upon all of our town workers. Don't want to plow? Go look for employment somewhere else. Smithtown residents are starting to smell the coffee after this debacle, election time should be quite interesting.
