Dads Invest in Their Children's Future.

Head Start and Fatherhood work together with mutual respect to invest in young children's futures

There are so many wonderful ways our dads participate in Bridgehampton Head Start and all those things they do add up to a real investment in their children's future.

Whether it be reading a book, doing a science experiment or joining us Wednesday for our "Dads Bring Your Child to School Day," they are building a foundation for their kids.  Showing their kids that they matter builds self esteem and by taking part in these early childhood educational experiences, they are teaching their children to value and the love of learning.

But some dads can't take time off during the working hours and those dads find other ways to help and give their time.  In the past two weeks, in the evenings and on weekends we have had a dad powerwash our schoolhouse and paint the inside halls entrance and multipurpose room.  "Didn't my daddy make the school pretty" Hailey B. said to me.  He sure did and he also gave you a sense of pride.  That will last you a lifetime.

I'm hoping we will get many dads to come in Wednesday to share in their children's morning, celebrate literacy witn the gift of books, celebrate national food day making apple sauce, and experience the generousity of the Teacher's Federal Credit Union's gift of back packs and school supplies.

Each moment they spend now will be a lifetime of memories.
