Whaling Museum's Porch Catches Fire
Minor damage is contained to porch of historical museum.
A fire began on the back porch of the Sag Harbor Whaling and Historical Museum Monday afternoon, but it was quickly extinguished before causing any major damage.
Barbara Lobosco, the president of the museum's board of directors, said the fire occurred between 12:30 and 1 p.m. Sag Harbor Fire Department responded.
Lobosco said that the only damage was to a few wood planks on the porch. The cause of the fire is unknown, she said, though the fire marshal is on scene investigating.
