Montauk Highway Accident Snarls Bridgehampton Traffic
Two vehicles involved in rear-end accident.
A two-vehicle accident on Montauk Highway in Bridgehampton, in front of Mercado accident, is backing up traffic Friday.
Southampton Town police said the accident was reported at 5:14 p.m. and there were no injuries.
It appears a white SUV rear-ended an older model red Volvo wagon. The SUV was stopped in the eastbound lane, and traffic navigated around it. The Volvo stopped in the median further east.
Bridgehampton Fire Department responded to clean up spilled fluis from the vehicles, police said.
