Zach plays Seymour Krelbourn, a poor young man working at a run-down flower shop when he discovers an alien plant after a total solar eclipse. The strange and beautiful plant brings Seymour fame, fortune and love. The only drawback is that the plant, which he names Audrey II after the woman he loves, feeds on people. He strikes a deal with Audrey II that he will continue to bring it meals if the plant continues to bring him good fortune.

RoseAnn Gentile directs and alumni volunteers Tramar Pettaway and Tyler Allen assisted. Pettaway, who graduated from Southampton High School in 2007, acted in school musicals during his days as a student.

“It has been a wonderful experience," Pettaway said of his return to his old stomping grounds. "When you go back to the school you graduated from and you volunteer to help out with the play, it's a wonderful feeling, especially working with a great director such as Mrs. Gentile.”

Cast member Sean Noonan, a sophomore, who plays dentist Orin Scrivello, said what he loved above his character was “his personality. It’s egotistical and an Elvis Presley kind of style which makes his actions overly exaggerated. Overall, it’s just a fun role to have.”

Sean shared the role with Daniel Kaufman.

Steve Martin played the dentist in the 1986 film adaption directed by Frank Oz. Rick Moranis played Seymour.

Sean was confident the audience would enjoy his high school's adaption. “It's definitely a hit, because I feel we've put more work into this play than any high school musical we have done previously," he said. "It's gonna be a great show and I'm glad I could work with such a great cast.”
