Photos: 'Sex: What She's Really Thinking' Opens In Southampton

Southampton Cultural Center opens month-long run of show with ensemble cast.

Last weekend the Southampton Cultural Center opened its four-week run of "Sex: What She's Really Thinking" a vaudevillian-style comedy written by Ilene Beckerman along with SCC's director Michael Disher.

Beckerman, who performed in "Love, Loss and What I Wore" in the role of herself last year at the SCC, began to develop "Sex..." with Disher back in March, according to a treatment on the Center's website. The performance blends humor and truth with some interesting insights on human relationships in a series of monologues and short scenes.

The play is locally cast with recognizable performers, such as WPPB's "Eclectic Cafe" host Bonnie Grice, Hampton Bays residents Gina Surnicki, Matthew O'Connor and Tom Rosante, who began working with Disher when he was running the Avrim Theater at LIU Southampton College.

"Sex..." will run Thursdays through Sundays until Jan. 26. Tickets are available and include discounts for students and seniors. Disher provided Patch with the photo gallery of last week's performance included in this story. The photos were taken by Thomas Wheeler.
