Her classic songs such Je T'aime although sung in French had me spellbound. The tour is promoting her new album "Le Secret" of which I had not heard a single song yet I enjoyed the show. Ms. Fabian who was born in Belgium to a Flemish father and an Italian mother, is fluent in French, Italian, Spanish, Flemish, English and also had a hit album in Russian. She has a hit song in Hebrew.
The crowd was made up mostly of fans very familiar with her work who often stood and applauded in the middle of many of the songs when Ms. Fabian hit the highest of notes. Lara Fabian has now unleashed her talent for an American audience. Long time admirer Long island native Cindi Sansone-Braff said of the performance, "Lara Fabian is a very powerful singer who connects to her audience. We can feel her love, I am so glad I was able to finally see her sing live."
I AM ADDING THIS COMMENT TO THIS REVIEW : Richard Georgeou commented on your article "Lara Fabian at Carnegie Hall : Review" in T.J. Clemente:
I was there at Carnegie Hall. This was my 8th Lara Fabian concert. She is incredible. And,on this night,at the prestigious Carnegie Hall, she was on top of her game.Vocal acrobatics, connecting with her fans,at least 12 standing ovations. Internationally, she's a huge star.Hopefully, this performance will launch her in the US.Multi lingual and multi talented. I first met her in Montreal at her PBS taping,as a fan.Her fans are very loyal. As i looked over the Carnegie Hall crowd i saw some familiar faces. She is the'voice' of this millenium,in my opinion.
