Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival - Slavic Spirit

Each piece on this evening’s program carries the distinctive flavor of Eastern Europe.  Hungarian Gyorgy Ligeti’s inventive Six Bagatelles make references to Stravinsky and Bartók, and Martinů's Nonet nods to Czech folk music.  Dvořák shows his mastery of lyricism in his Notturno then displays a fiery intensity in his F Minor Piano Trio, which harkens back to the composer’s Bohemian roots.
