A retrospective show of Michael Paraskevas' paintings, illustrations and design work will be held from Dec. 10 through Dec. 31. An artist's reception is scheduled for Dec. 11 from 5 to 8 p.m. Paraskevas, known locally as the cartoonist for Dan's Papers for over 20 years, has illustrated 23 children's books, which were written by his late mother, Betty Paraskevas. Books will be for sale. The mother-son team created the hit series Maggie and the Ferocious Beast on Nickelodeon.
