1. Officials: More Than 35 People Found Living in Southampton House

A search warrant executed on the morning of Aug. 13 led to the discovery at 118 West Prospect St., a house in foreclosure that officials said was dangerous and unsanitary. The village has since deemed it uninhabitable. 

2. Cops: Jennifer Lopez's Stalker Found Squatting in Her Pool House

John M. Dubis, a 49-year-old who lives on Rhode Island, was reportedly living in the pool house for a week. Lopez, the mother to twins with singer Marc Anthony, was not present at the time. 

3. Cops Warn Drivers To Safeguard Cars In Light of Luxury Auto Thefts

With the number of high-end vehicle thefts now up to 18 between Westhampton and Wainscott this summer, police said the public can help deter such crimes of opportunity. As previously reported, vehicles stolen have been left unlocked and with spare keys inside. 

4. Kabot Creates New Party Line in Bid for Supervisor Seat

Republican candidate for Southampton Town Supervisor has filed papers to create a new party line, which she believes will help her win back her seat as Southampton Supervisor. 

5. 'Rust Tide' Returns to Area Waterways

A toxic algae, known as a Rust Tide, which causes harm to shellfish, has returned to the area and it's not expected to go away anytime soon.
