1. Kidd Makes In-Court Plea, Admits to Tequila-Fueled DWI

Jason Kidd admitted in Southampton Justice Court on Tuesday to having "three or four" tequilas before he got behind the wheel and crashed in Water Mill last July.

2. Kabot Makes Move for Conservative Line

The Southampton Town supervisor race is turning out to be more than just a race between incumbent Supervisor Anna Throne-Holst and GOP candidate Linda Kabot — there's now a race for the Conservative party seat and a possible primary on the horizon. 

3. Sagaponack Mulls Forming Police Department

Sagaponack Village is considering patrolling its own streets, setting up a police department of its own and opting out of the Southampton Town Police Department.

4. Firefighters Quickly Extinguish Sagaponack Brush Fire

A brush fire that broke out in a Sagaponack field on Thursday afternoon was quickly knocked down, according to Bridgehampon Fire Department Chief Gary Horsburgh. 

5. Incident Report: Woman Awakes to Stranger in Doorway

A North Sea woman reported that on July 9 around 3 a.m. she awoke to find someone standing in her doorway. The man reportedly said he was lost and pulled out an air conditioning unit to gain access to the home. No damage or items were reported missing or broken, and she just wished to document the incident.
