1. Chief: Firefighters Faced Several Challenges Battling 'Stubborn' Blaze
In difficult weather conditions, 70 firefighters worked for seven hours on Tuesday to completely extinguish a fire in a Water Mill house that started with a lightning strike on Tuesday.
2. Conservative Primary Candidates Lay Out Vision for Southampton
On Tuesday, Conservative voters will have the opportunity to write in the name of the Southampton Conservative candidate of their choice for the November election. Vying for the Conservative line is Southampton resident Phil Keith and Quogue resident Linda Kabot, who is waging the primary for the line. Both are registered Republicans.
3. Video Shows Just How Bad the Flooding Got
Heavy rains flooded many streets throughout the South Fork. Despite flash flood warnings, some motorists found themselves stuck in the middle of flooded out roadways. In this video, taken by Clifford Dayton on Scuttlehole Road, a Mercedes convertible didn't make it through the water.
4. Kent Farrington Takes Hampton Classic Grand Prix, Again
Riding Zafira, Farrington pulled off a time of 38.51 seconds in the jump-off of the $250,000 FTI Consulting Grand Prix, beating out Richie Moloney on Slieveanorra, who rode in 40 seconds even, and Georgina Bloomberg on Juvina, who had a time of 44.03 seconds.
5. EMTs, Cops Help Save Woman’s Life in Sagaponack
A housekeeper in Sagaponack is alive today thanks to the joint rescue efforts of Southampton Town police and emergency workers from the Bridgehampton Fire Department and the Southampton Ambulance.
