Water Mill Festival Uses Art, Fashion for Environment

Inaugural festival entertains kids and adults Saturday.

To raise funds and awareness for sustainability, the first Water Mill Festival is slated for Saturday at Water Mill Square, with activities for kids, and fashion and cocktails for adults,

The day begins with a free kids festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be arts and crafts, face painting, games with prizes, canvas sneaker painting by Youth Studio Art, food, and aquatic demonstrations.

Children can be dropped for at a complimentary art camp, so parents can explore a pop-up fashion boutique and nail salon, among other attractions.

A cocktail reception to benefit the environmental advocacy nonprofit Group for the East End and educational film production company Inform is from 4 to 9 p.m.

Appetizers will be locally prepared from sustainable, local ingredients, according to organizers. A deejay will be playing music as guests enjoy a photography exhibition by Rose Hartman and Vital Agibalow and at sunset a fashion show begins with deigns by Julie Brown, Lu Berry, Sofie Bly, Michelle Farmer, Bjorn Bengtsson, and Biba.
